Park Guide
Serengeti National Park
14,763 km² of protected savanna and woodland. Resident Big Five year-round. Home to the annual Great Wildebeest Migration. The most famous wildlife park in Africa. 2 nights minimum recommended.
Ngorongoro Crater
A 260 km² caldera with resident populations of all Big Five including black rhino. One of the highest wildlife densities per km² in Africa. Best combined with the Serengeti — 2–3 hours apart by road.
Tarangire National Park
The largest elephant concentration in the northern circuit. Ancient baobab trees. Less visited than Serengeti and Ngorongoro — a significant contrast in atmosphere. Best June–October.
Lake Manyara National Park
Famous for its tree-climbing lions and flamingo colonies on the alkaline lake. Excellent bird watching. Compact park — half-day or full-day, often combined with Tarangire.
